This season’s couture fashion week for the upcoming fall season was quite eclectic and well rounded. There were great influences and concepts evident in many of the pieces crafted for each runway showcase — s0 I went through them and chose 15 of the most unique looks. Take a look through each of these 4 major trends I noticed while reviewing the top runway looks, and read my individual blurb for my thoughts on each…

Many of the collections this season had both a Victorian, and vintage haute couture influence. The looks above shown by these 4 influential houses in fashion emphasize the timeless tradition of true couture, and are likewise signature looks to each brand. In up-to-date rendition, the form and design keeps each garment appear modern and sleek, in all their vintage glory.

Shimmering Touches

The above 3 looks all focus around beautiful shimmering materials. Metallic touches in the fabrics and beading glisten as they move on the models in each photograph. The vintage touch in the fringed flapper dresses are quite elegant, while the bedazzled jacket complements quite an edgy, street-inspired look.

Odd Intricacies

valentino couture

viktor rolf couture
Viktor & Rolf

Each of these looks embody a unique theme that is signature to each designer. However, each also showcases the great amount of handwork and true attention to detail in a couture garment. I seriously am in awe of the insanely cool work on the V&R jacket pictured above!

Abstract Flow

givenchy couture

maison margiela
Maison Margiela

I feel the muse behind these final looks were the artistic vision and construction of true fashion designs. Each garment has layers, and different components that bring together each look. Some can be deconstructed and worn another way. But they all take form of art in fashion, and display the real detail behind the creative mind.
