All while SS15 womenswear is currently showing at NYFW, and at the end of men’s SS15, I have decided to finally do my review of the 10 best looks of Spring 2015 Couture! The runways were filled with a plethora of gorgeous and intricately designed pieces (as always) so it was definitely a tough task choosing these looks. I have ordered them in a somewhat colour-coded order, so I hope this review visually appealing 🙂
I absolutely died over this blue-noodle-looking cape I saw in the Armani Privé show. It immediately caught my eye, and was a unique piece that stood out amongst the more forest/bamboo inspired collection. The culottes Armani has created are also super chic; I like them!
When I saw this emerald green crocodile skirt, paired with the elegant cape, I knew this look was perfection. Not to mention the fact that Alexander put every model in a pair of Louboutin’s, and these slouchy black suede ones perfectly complemented this cool look.
Elie Saab’s runway was outstanding, and I had seen this look in a gown-version, but felt the jumpsuit was so much more chic! The ostrich feather details in oil-slick black definitely add a glam touch to the outfit.
The small yet crazy runway lead for Maison Margiela this season was odd, yet so couture. I found this look one of the most wearable, yet gorgeous, with many different sections a part of it. The embroidered cast(?) was definitely my favourite part, and the fact that the model somewhat looked like Lana Del Rey (lol).
No I did not just pick this look because Kendall was the model, but when looking through Chanel, I noticed a few looks in the crop-top & tulle skirt combo, and this one was the most appealing by far. The gorgeous pastel embroidered flowers, and classic button up sheer-top made for a cute and classic ensemble.
Jean Paul Gaultier
JPG never ceases to amaze us with his out-of-the-box, yet extremely high fashion looks. I died when I saw this remix of a wedding gown as a top and skirt, with the black tulle pants. And do I white python spot Louboutin’s? #GORGEOUS
The runway collection was filled with tons of new symbols, it seemed, and I loved this simple take on the curvy shape style used in many other outfits. In all white, and with several cut outs, this look was chic, understated, but all Versace!
Although there were many gorgeous, intricate looks put on the runway by Raf Simons, this one definitely caught my eye. Simple and chic, with a similar crop-top and ankle-skirt combo like Chanel, but with sexy patent thigh-high boots.
The shade of sand has been really popular in Valentino’s runways lately, and this look spoke as desert-elegance, so I thought it would be a great fit in this post. The cute boxy scrunched-bottom jacket and a signature embroidered gown made for a classic Valentino look.
Viktor & Rolf
Finishing off my haute couture picks is this insane look by Viktor & Rolf. It’s insane, and I can see Anna dello Russo wearing this at Paris Fashion Week in a couple weeks, don’t you? It’s like there’s a wheat/cornfield on her head, and it’s so cool!!!
What did you think of these picks? I thought HC for this Spring was gorgeous, but had those added details of discussion from Armani, Margiela, JPG, and of course Viktor & Rolf.
I am so excited as I will have the pleasure of being in NYC this upcoming Sunday during NYFW!!!! #SURPRISE 😀 So look out for some amazing outfit posts, street style, food, and hopefully with some amazing fashion bloggers!
Until then, have a happy Friday 🙂
