Just this past Sunday, I celebrated my 19th birthday! That also means in Canada that I am officially legal, and can do whatever I want [well, maybe not everything]! But every year, I really look forward to my birthday because it’s a time to indulge, and celebrate myself, as cocky as that sounds 😉

I went downtown in Toronto to Yorkville, one of my favourite areas to walk around; it’s a really pretty area. Walking around, I wanted to look put-together, but not over the top since it was a casual Sunday.

Still looking fashionable but relaxed, I wore my ripped jeans, a graphic t-shirt, and sneakers. This kept the look laid-back, and allowed me to pair nicer accessories & my leather jacket on top!

Wearing my silver chain & leather wrap bracelets and one of my birthday gifts from my friend (a Roman numeral ring, which I’m #obsessed with!), these added chicness to the look. I also paired my Hermes belt, switching it on the gold side, which kept my outfit more casj.

I love mixing silver & gold; it adds a unique look to the outfit. And because I wore the metals in different locations on my body, they didn’t clash. Lastly for my bag, I carried my new Balenciaga bag (with silver hardware) that I saved up and splurged on! I love my birthday, because it gives me an excuse to spoil myself 🙂

Later that day, I changed up my look to go for dinner at Blowfish (such good sushi!). I went for a classier look instead of looking daytime casual, which corresponded well for the evening.

On top I wore a cool patterned button up, adding a pop to my ensemble, and easy black jeans, which paired well. And of course I had to wear my brogue sneakers on the bottom! These are probably one of my favourite pairs of shoes, as they are a real statement in any outfit – and they definitely paired well with this look.

Completing the look, I wore the same leather jacket, jewellery and bag, effortlessly transitioning from day to night. These kept both looks somewhat cohesive and added some edge, but were both still unique in their own right.

I want to thank all my friends and family for helping me celebrate my birthday, and to the world of fashion for letting me express myself through clothing – although I probably need to work if I want to keep up with trends! Here’s to my love of fashion, and my readers on Sass & Leather.
